Forehead Lift Champaign

Plastic / Cosmetic Surgeon Dr. James Kurley located in Champaign, IL.

Deep furrows on the forehead, frown lines over the eyes, drooping eyebrows and hood-like skin over the eyes are all conditions that can make you look older than you are or feel. Whether age or heredity causes these conditions, a forehead lift (or brow lift) can give you a more youthful, animated and alert appearance.

Dr. Kurley has indicated he finds that most women pluck or wax their eyebrows in order to change the height of their brow. An arched eyebrow is a sign of youth and can highlight your eyes and draw attention to them. A droopy horizontal eyebrow can hood your eyelids, draw attention away from your eyes, and is more typical of the male brow. However, a brow lift conducted by Dr. Kurley will provide major improvement in the face.

There are increasingly more men interested in facial plastic surgery including brow lift surgery.

Where are the incisions located?

The location of the incision for forehead lift (browlift) depends upon your anatomy. The position of the incision will be decided after complete discussion at the time of your consultation. Sometimes the incision is located about 4 cm behind the current hairline. However, in other circumstances, the incision may be positioned right at the frontal hairline. This position may be chosen a few already have a very high frontal hairline. Dr. Kurley does not want to raise the hairline further giving a more “balding” appearance to your face.

Does the procedure simply tighten the skin?

The procedure does tighten the skin. The forehead lift procedure also allows Dr. Kurley the ability to modify overactive muscles that contribute to your horizontal forehead wrinkles (surprise wrinkles) and your vertical wrinkles between the eyes that contribute to an “angry” appearance.

Can other procedures be performed simultaneously?

We are often performing your forehead lift in association with other surgical procedures such as upper and lower eyelid lift (blepharoplasty), facelift/neck lift, facial lipoplasty, or even rhinoplasty.

Dr. Kurley performs the surgery, in his AAAASF fully accredited surgical facility. This provides his patients privacy, confidentiality and convenience not available in a hospital setting. Dr. Kurley performs the procedure which takes approximately one to one and a half hours. Appropriate anesthesia is used, and the type is based upon your general state of health and other associated procedures that might be performed simultaneously. You are able to go home the same day as surgery, there is generally no need for hospitalization.

When you are discharged from the office after surgery, there will be bandaging in place. This bandaging will be removed at your visit the next day. You will be able to shower and wash her hair the day after surgery. Sutures are generally removed 5-7 days after surgery. You will be able to return to work in 5 to 10 days and will be able to resume your routine activities and light exercise in a couple weeks. Your improved look will be most appreciated by you. Many people say how well rested you look, or ask if you’ve changed your hairstyle. Dr. Kurley strives to provide you with a natural, not fake or surprised, appearance. This procedure alone can make you look anywhere from five to ten years younger.

If your forehead lines are not too deep, or you wish to discuss non-surgical improvements, then perhaps Botox® Cosmetic injections or injectible fillers or chemical peels might be for you. These are further discussed under Non-Surgical Enhancement.

However, the most effective treatment to insure your desire results is best left to Dr. Kurley. He will be certain to provide the most effective answer for you. Call today to set up a personalized consultation with Dr. Kurley. Contact our office or call (217) 356-3850 or click here
